Welcome to the Rotary Club of Ruthin
We are a club of some 24 members who meet regularly on Wednesday evenings usually with a meal when we enjoy good fellowship and discuss future events. The atmosphere at these meetings is always lively and many visitors have praised our open and friendly attitude.
As part of the worldwide Rotary International movement we are committed to helping others in need and at the same time have a good time!
We raise substantial funds for a variety of good causes both at home and abroad and are involved in holding and assisting with many different community events.
On the home front one of our event is the Christmas Float which we use to take Santa around the streets of Ruthin and surrounding villages. This not only gives great enjoyment to hundreds of children but also raises funds to support our community projects. The event raises thousands of pounds each year.
Our Donket Derby event which takes place each year gives great pleasure to our community and is our way of saying thank you for the support and help our local community gives Rotary in Ruthin
On the international scene our main recent project has been, with substantial assistance form Rotary's own charity the Rotary Foundation, to purchase wheelchairs for disabled people in Botswana South Africa. Two of our members have visited South Africa to oversee distribution.
If you are interested in finding out more or coming along to one of our meetings or events please contact our Secretary,Terry Bolton 01490 460 388 e.mail firstname.lastname@example.org
