ROTARY CLUB OF CHURCH STRETTON
PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE
Locally & Globally
The community spirit in Church Stretton encourages willing volunteers to support those disadvantaged due to the impact of Covid – 19. Normally our members would be seen working with volunteer groups, but we are restricted due to travel regulations. However, we donated £1086 to Mayfair and £400 for Eye and Face visors for delivery to Shrewsbury Hospital.
We are keen to attract members who want to get involved, share our ethos of commitment and responsibility within the local community and simply ‘want to give something back’.
Rotary is one of the world’s leading membership and humanitarian service organisations, with 1.2 million members in over 35,000 Rotary clubs in more than 200 countries. Over a two-year period Rotary International have contributed $143,000,000 towards the World Health Organisation.
Rotary members are People of Action, ready to turn their ideas and vision into lasting change, by creating opportunities and supporting those who need it most, often transforming their lives.
Where others see problems, Rotary members see solutions: tapping into their professional skills, expertise and knowledge to make a difference. People of Action use their time, energy and passion to mobilise their communities to get the job done.
One of Rotary’s other leading commitments is to offer young people the platforms and opportunities for them to unlock their potential, develop their skills and broaden their horizons.
Rotary provides the opportunity to become an active member within our community, meet new people, create new friendships, all while having fun and making a difference.
