About us

Welcome to the Rotary Club of Tywyn

Who we are and what we do:

The Rotary Club of Tywyn is a friendly club with a full programme including interesting topical speakers and a range of social events, meeting usually on Thursday's at 7:15pm in the The Proper Gander Restaurant, Tywyn.

On the first Thursday of the month we usually have a guest speaker, and the third Thursday is a business meeting where we discuss and organise our charitable activities.

Our members work together to support local and international communities by raising money with our fund raising events, from the local Dysynni community and from visitors to the area. Our biggest and most well known event is the annual Race the Train, which makes a major contribution to the economy of the local area.

Welcome:

A warm welcome is extended to all local or visiting Rotarians and anyone interested in meeting us at first hand.

Membership of Rotary International encourages you to make new friends worldwide. We therefore return the warm welcome which is always given to fellow Rotarians.

Weekly Meetings:

If you are visiting Tywyn, please join with us for one of our Thursday meetings. Check our "Meetings Page" for details.

37th Annual Race The Train:

Saturday 20th August 2022

We are on the lookout for volunteers to help with marshalling on the day of the race.

You will need to be available  on Saturday 20th August from 08.45am to the end of the race.  You will be allocated a position on the course and will need to be able to get there using your own transport if necessary.  Hi Viz clothing will be provided by the Rotary Club of Tywyn, as will a light refreshment (sandwich and drink).

If you feel you can help, either for the whole day or even just an hour or two - please contact any member of the Rotary club or through our Facebook page or email contact.tywynrotaryclub@gmail.com
