About us

Hello and Welcome to Limerick Thomond Rotary Club.
My name is Ger Lynch and I am the current President of Limerick Thomond Rotary Club which was
founded in 1984.Over the years we have pioneered projects both on a National and
International stage which aim to support and assist people and communities.
The Rotary motto is “Service above Self” and we demonstrate this by volunteering our time,
energy and know-how to the many projects that are planned each year.We cover youth events
including Leadership,Photography and Young Writer competitions while also promoting Drug
Awareness Talks in Second Level schools.
We also publicise health in our community by holding Blood Pressure Clinics and support Local
Charities through the staging of our annual Remembrance Tree at Christmas which has
generated € 190k since we started this event nine years ago.
Internationally we are part of the Rotary Campaign to eliminate Polio worldwide which
commenced in 1985 and now has just three countries remaining to be completed in order to have
the virus deemed eliminated throughout this world. We also participate in the School Bikes For Africa
campaign and support entrepreneurs in third- world countries through the provision of finance
under the Lend With Care process.
This is but a brief outline of what we do as members of Rotary and If you are a person who
would like to get involved and make a difference in your community, please contact us through
Facebook/Twitter or our website through the addresses below and we would be delighted to
meet with you to encourage you expanding this interest with us.
Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.
Ger .
