President Graham Rose

Club No. 22061

CHARTERED ON 17 SEPTEMBER 1984, OUR CLUB HAS ENTERED ITS 38th YEAR OF SERVICE

WELCOME TO THE ROTARY CLUB OF BRETBY

I am pleased to welcome you to the website of the Rotary Club of Bretby. We are the evening Club for Burton upon Trent and the surrounding area and we meet every second and fourth Monday at Branston Golf & Country Club,  6.45pm for 7.15pm (apart from Bank Holidays). On other weeks we have evenings out or by Zoom videoconferencing.

I have the honour to be the President of the Club for the Rotary year 2021-2022 and I invite you to browse the newly updated website, to gain information about our Club, how the Club works, what projects we support and how we enjoy ourselves.

If you are not a Rotarian then please look at either the top left ‘MENU’ which will take you to the 'NEW MEMBERS' section or the 'WHAT WE DO' button at the top right of this page – the drop-down Menu will also take you to New Members page. If you would like to talk to someone about joining us then please click the CONTACT “envelope” at the top of the page.

At Bretby Rotary we have a strong commitment to serving the local community, coupled with at least one international project each year. We are a small but energetic team, and are always looking for public spirited people to join us and have some fun doing satisfying  work. Our major projects for this year are raising funds for Burton YMCA to replace their utility vehicle which serves all their many activities, and Happy Readers, a charity in Zimbabwe, where in partnership with our twinned  German club Lingen Ems and the Rotary Club of Harare, we will help them expand their impressive scheme for teaching girls to read English to a level where they can obtain good jobs and teach others.
If these kinds of projects appeal to you, or you have a project you are involved in which needs support, why not come and talk to us? You’ll be surprised at how many things we are involved in, and how much we enjoy ourselves whilst achieving life-changing improvements.
