A STRONG HISTORY BUT READY FOR THE FUTURE
It started with an idea - a notion. in early 1919 some businessmen got together and agreed they wanted to offer service above self to the Swansea community via a relatively new idea called Rotary.
In November 1919 Swansea Rotary Club was chartered. The third in Wales after Cardiff and Llanelli. Rotary Swansea commemorated its club centenary in 2019
Even during Covid, we carried on operating. We held our meetings online via Zoom, contributed to food banks, local initiatives and projects.
More recently we did a "Steps for Ukraine" Go Fund Me campaign, sending the money raised to help the vital work of Voice of Ukraine Wales and support the Red Cross working in Ukraine.
We collected over 700 warm coats for the needy in winter.
We meet face to face every first and third Wednesday evening of the month at 7 and have a planning meeting on Zoom every 2nd Wednesday. If you would like to make new friends while giving back to the community, why not come and join us? We welcome new members and you would be welcome to be our guest at our next face to face meeting. Contact 07392 825905 to find out more.
We organise several fund-raising initiatives during the year including race nights, fashion shows, curry evenings, musical evenings, boules/petanque championships and bucket collections. We are particularly looking for new fundraising ideas.
We support a number of charities, community organisations and local school projects.
We are always looking for members - men and women of all ages who want to offer service to the local and international community.
We meet on Wednesdays at 19.00
