Welcome to the website of the Rotary Club of Batley, West Yorkshire. Founded in 1946, The Rotary Club of Batley is proud to have served the community of Batley and district for 71 years, as well as making a significant contribution to international projects.
The club is always seeking new members. The club now numbers 15 members, nine men and six ladies, aged upwards of 55. We would love to hear from others who would like to make a contribution to the local community, and to the wider global community. During 2017/18, we are involved in the following local projects: Contact the Elderly, giving monthly tea parties for elderly people who are isolated or lonely; Guide Dogs for the Blind, this year funding the Club's third guide dog; Dictionaries for Schools, supplying a dictionary for every year 6 pupil in local schools before they leave for Secondary Education; Helping with Literacy in local schools, by listening to youngsters read, and the following projects worldwide: Polio Plus, helping to eradicate fully polio throughout the world.
We also sponsor two Interact clubs in local senior schools, and two RotaKids clubs in local junior schools, along with sponsoring a student from senior school to attend a RYLA course (Rotary Youth Leadership Award
