About us

Welcome

We have a passion to make a difference in the Community, whether that community is in Brentwood, in Britain and Ireland or worldwide and we recognise that an effective way for a small group of motivated individuals to make a difference is through belonging to a service organisation with a global footprint whose ideals match ours - Rotary International.

Since we were formed as a Club in 1998 we have organised regular social and fundraising activities whilst also serving our community through a varied programme of projects and Vocational work. We seek out local and interational opportunities where our members can contribute their skills and time to make an impactful difference, keep active with sporting events and sociable walks in the County that can now - again - end with a great sociable pub lunch!

We have restarted in person meetings but we are alternating with online meetings via Zoom.  The pattern of meetings is reviewed each month and we remain committed to support our Community where and when we can to renew and rebuild after the Covid pandemic.  We are hopeful this year to concentrate our efforts on the environment and assisting local charities working with children, teenagers and families.

Our fundraising and voluntary work is centred on Brentwood and Essex but through Rotary’s own Charity Rotary Foundation we also support Rotary International’s projects that work towards making a difference in the following areas:

Peace and Conflict Resolution, Disease Prevention and Treatment

Water and Sanitation, Maternal and Child Health

Basic Education and LiteracyEconomic and Community

You are most welcome to join our meetings as a guest

Please Note: Rotary International in Great Britain & Ireland (RIBI) is an Association of private clubs, members of which abide by the Constitution and By-laws of the Association, and by the Constitution of their own club.

Club members, as stated in the RIBI Club Constitution, should be "adult persons of good character and good business, professional and/or community reputation" and agree to uphold high moral and ethical standards in their "personal, business and community life" as well as in their interaction with other people generally.

Please note that "membership of a club is by invitation only, at the discretion of the members."

It is important, therefore, that you take time to visit your prospective club on a few occasions to ensure not only that you get to know its members and that you will feel happy being part of the club, but also that you give its members a chance to get to know you.
