Update on First Steps Himalaya and Global Giving
2020 has been difficult for all of us. As Christmas approaches, rural Nepal continues to face challenges linked to COVID – 19. The men returning to Nepal with no work and no money has led to an increase in child and women trafficking, domestic abuse, and girls not attending school.
In spite of the challenges Ythan Valley Rotary remains committed to supporting First Steps Himalaya in building self- resilience in Nepal—but we need your help. Through Giving Tuesday, a day where everyone, anywhere, can help to support us in raise an awareness, and hopefully well needed funds, for the villagers of the Nuwakot district of Nepal.
Therefore, for 24 hours only (0500 hrs to 0500 hrs GMT) from Tuesday 1st December to Wednesday 2nd Dec 2020, GlobalGiving is giving away one million dollars to non-profit organisations around the world. Your generous gift will help us unlock a greater share of those funds!
If you have previously donated in the past to the work of this project, thank you. However, if you did not meet our past deadline, and would still like to donate, then now is your chance to do so! For more information, and to make your donation, please follow the link https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/community-resilience-nuwakot-district-nepal/
Together, we can make a big difference to the lives of the villagers in Nepal, especially as the winter months fast approach. Mark the date on your calendars today!

ROTARY CLUB of YTHAN VALLEY - June 2020 Assembly
Are you looking for an opportunity to make a difference!
The current national emergency may have you
considering how you can offer support and contribute to the wellbeing of your
local community now and in the future.
The situation we find ourselves in creates fear and uncertainty but also brings
strength and an overwhelming sense of community spirit.
Rotary offers you the opportunity to provide your support, skills and
give time, as much or as little as you have, to benefit others in your local
area, nationally and internationally.
Ythan Valley Rotary is a new and unique club. Breaking the mould in terms of
structure to accommodate all of its members and their lifestyles.
We already have a number of projects running and we are inviting new members to
join us working on these, and in, new projects to support and enable others.
Join us to find out how you can help support your local community alongside a supportive team of civic minded friends.
From sleeping out in a Shelter tent on a cold
and stormy night to raise awareness, to helping with a clothing bank,
organising a fundraising BBQ or assisting with a young photographer competition
or if you have your own project idea. The possibilities are endless.
We can promise it will be both rewarding and fun.
