A warm welcome if you are reading this.
The Presidential baton was handed to me on 1st January 2021 and I am now in the "hot seat" of leading Alsager Rotary for the next 18 months.
Hopefully, these unprecedented times that we find ourselves in now will cease very soon and our club can once again continue to support the Alsager community and communities internationally, engaging in projects that help to improve people's lives through its charitable work. Examples of this support include financing the Senior Citizens Show bi-annually ( some members also act in the show), performing as the "Singing Santas" that you see around town every Xmas and organising the sponsored Tandem Ride in the summer, together with the charities Market in Autumn.
Since 1985., Rotary's key humanitarian priority has been to rid the world of Polio. We financially help to support the campaign "End Polio Now" and today the number of victims is down dramatically with only 2 or 3 countries remaining with minor outbreaks of the disease.
All our members are volunteers who enjoy the cameraderie within the club and the sense of " giving something back". We are always on the lookout for people to help out. If you have time to spare, be it evening or part of a weekend, we would be glad to get you involved in our worthwhile activities. Alternatively, we support many of the local events, where you could ccome and chat, when we get back to "normal everyday life"
