About us

Welcome to the web pages for the Rotary Club of Stockport.

We are only a small Club in terms of membership but eager to serve the local community and invite you to do so too.

Our members are always happy to discuss how you can get involved with Rotary, our projects or with the work of other Clubs.  You can become a member or just spend some time with us and see what you think.

Everyone welcome to become involved.

WHAT IS ROTARY?

  • Men and women of all ages and occupations, keen to combine their skills and resources to make a real contribution to helping others in communities near and far.
  • Enjoying the fellowship and friendship of like minded people, fulfilment  in shared activities, learning new skills, networking with others and having a huge amount of fun
  • Whilst organised as local clubs, being part of Rotary internationally - 1.2 million Rotarians, 33,000 clubs, in some 200 countries. A warm welcome awaits travelling Rotarians visiting and meeting any of these clubs.

A WELCOME AWAITS YOU

Do you feel that there is something missing in your life or that you might enjoy the chance of doing something to 'change the world' and have fun and fellowship with like minded men and women at the same time?

Then a warm welcome awaits you at the Rotary Club of Stockport. Come and meet us and see what you think.

If you don't want to make a long standing commitment at this early stage you will be very welcome to help with our activities as a "Friend of Rotary"

If you decide you want to join the Club there are two main options to consider: Associate Membership (maybe the optimum start oportunity to discover if Rotary is the thing for you). If it is, then Full Membership awaits you,  which for many of us has become a longstanding experience of fulfilling fellowship and giving that little "something" back to the community.

The Club meets at  6pm (for 6.30pm meal/meeting) at the Wycliffe Hotel (74 Edgeley Road, Stockport) on the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of every month (except August),   We generally hold a Council/Business meeting on the first meeting of the month with a speaker or other agenda item on the third.  Committee/project meetings are held as and when required generally on a Club evening at 5pm before the main meeting or at a time/venue more convenient to those members involved.
