Coronavirus & Club Events
We very much regret that, until further notice, all Club meetings and Events have been cancelled.
These include meetings at The Bell Hotel, Away Days, Information Evening on 23rd March at Sizewell Sports & Social Club, Rotary Caravanners visit on 22nd & 23rd April and the Marathon on Sunday 3rd May (please see below)
The celebration of the Club's 50th Anniversary dinner on the 4th July is also at risk and a decision will be made shortly.
Our sincere thanks to everyone for their understanding during this potentially critical period.
Community Small Grants Scheme
We are pleased to announce that we have introduced a Community Small Grants Scheme.
Please go to the 'What We Do' drop-down box and select 'Community & Vocational Projects' to get more details about the scheme and how to apply.
The 2020 Heritage Coast Run / Walk
Very regretfully, this years event due to be held on Sunday 3rd May has been cancelled and those entrants already registered will be contacted accordingly.
This is entirely due to the Coronavirus outbreak and govermental advice. Normally, we would expect up to 1000 people to either enter, support or provide services and because it is being held in early May, this could be a critical time.
What a Result in 2019 !!
Last years marathon event raised over £13,000 for worthy causes. The two main charities supported were Prostate Cancer UK and East Suffolk Prostate Cancer Care who received £6000 and £1000 respectively. The remaining funds will be used to support local good causes.
In the run up to Christmas, over £1800 was collected in the Leiston, Friday Street and Wickham Market areas for the Ipswich based charity, St Elizabeth's Hospice.
General Data Protection Act (GDPR)
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) legislation is coming into force on 25th May 2018. It is EU law but it will become law in the UK on 25th May 2018 (regardless of BREXIT) and will replace the Data Protection Act 1998. The Club will ensure that it is fully compliant with the new legislation.
