We are a group of present and retired business people whom wish to help the community of Romsey in Hampshire.
From our local community where we make a real difference in our town, to the Global Network of Rotary International who supports all types of communities and charities.
We seek out lifes doers, those with busy lives, but not too busy to think about the needs of others. We work together with good causes to make sure we institute change for the better.
We organise two major events each year,
The oldest is the The Carols in the Market place the last Monday before Christmas each year. The event brings the community together to sing traditional Christmas Carols and raise money for local charities.
We also organise the yearly Romsey Relay Marathon which is a hugely successful event and sees over 172 teams of 10 runners compete by running 2.6 miles each around the stunning Broadlands Estate to raise money for their chosen charity. 2019 event raised over £170,000 for 62 charities.
You can get involved in many ways - please visit our dedicated website for more information www.romseymarathon.co.uk
We support many charities and local organisations. Some of our most recent work and activities include:-
Romsey Young Carers - funding for sports equipment
Youth in Romsey - funding computing and kitchen facilities
Minstead Trust - Drama/Communication lessons
Romsey Youth Choir - help with funding towards their Tour to Romania in 2019
Purchase of Shelter Boxes for disaster relief
Hampshire Scouts - Funding for trip to Malawi
This is just a handful of the things we get up to on a yearly basis.
