Christmas Market 2019

Sat, Nov 2nd 2019 at 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Our Christmas Market, organised in conjunction with Dalziel High School P.T.A., will raise funds for our Furniture for Families project

On Saturday, 2nd November, Dalziel High School P.T.A. and the Rotary Club of Motherwell and Wishaw held our second joint event, rebranded as a Christmas Market, from 10.00 to 13.00, in Dalziel High School, Crawford Street, Motherwell.

The stallholders arrived from 08.30 to set-up before we opened to the public.

Doors opened at 10.00, to a short queue, and we charged an entry fee of £2.00, per adult.

Participation was fairly steady over the three hours and footfall increased over last year’s Autumn Fayre. The majority of the stallholders were pleased with sales, orders and the numbers of people taking note of their Facebook pages and e-mail addresses. A few have already signed up for next year’s Fayre.

The school’s Home Economics department sold rolls and sausage to augment the great work from the P.T.A. in our tearoom.

Including booking fees from stalls, we raised almost £1,500.00 and, after expenses, just over £1,300.00 was available for distribution through the P.T.A. and Rotary Club. A successful result for our second collaboration together.

Thanks are due to Dalziel High School, in particular, our link contact, Acting D.H.T. Grant McCallum, Valerie Bolat, Melanie Buckley and other members of the P.T.A., the Gibbons family for their assistance with the Tombola, all the Rotarians who helped in any way and, of course, the stallholders (listed below) without whom the event would not have been possible.
