HAVING FUN, BUILDING FRIENDSHIPS, CHANGING THE WORLD
At the heart of Rotary lies a powerful truth: service is most impactful when it’s shared with others — and a lot more fun, too!

While Rotary is renowned for its commitment to community service, humanitarian projects, and global initiatives, there’s another side to Rotary that keeps people coming back week after week, year after year: the friendships, the laughter, the unforgettable moments.

More Than Meetings — It’s a Family

When you join Rotary, you don’t just sign up for projects or attend events — you become part of a worldwide family. Whether it’s enjoying a club dinner, organizing a charity walk, traveling together on service trips, or simply sharing stories over coffee, Rotary is where friendships are formed that often last a lifetime.

Rotary clubs are vibrant social hubs. From themed parties to cultural nights, fun runs to talent shows, and even international conventions that feel like global reunions — there’s always something happening. And through it all, members connect not just over shared goals, but shared joy.

A Global Network of Friendship

With 1.4 million members in over 200 countries, Rotary is one of the largest and most diverse friendship networks in the world. Wherever you go, there's likely a Rotary club ready to welcome you — not as a stranger, but as a fellow Rotarian. Traveling Rotarians are often hosted by clubs across the globe, forging cross-cultural connections and deepening international understanding.

These global friendships don’t just make for great travel stories — they pave the way for international service projects, youth exchanges, and peace fellowships. Rotary is where fun and friendship power a global movement of goodwill.

Laugh, Bond, Serve

Rotary reminds us that doing good doesn’t have to be all hard work. The camaraderie, the shared laughs, the celebrations of success — these are the glue that bind Rotarians together across generations and borders.

So yes, Rotary is serious about service — but never too serious to smile, dance, and raise a toast to friendship.

Because when you combine purpose with people, and passion with play, that’s when the real magic happens

The annual Picnic has been back again several times since its covid break, in a brand new Marquee at Trinity School and its always a fabulous evening - the best yet was the verdict of many.

The entertainment was again organised by Steve Laister, compare, singer and comedian.Such guests as Majestic Templestowe Show Team, energetic dancers treating the audience to a variety of show dances.  Mr Personality Simon Rees and Dynamic Vocalist James Daniel got us to join in with singing and arm waving, Elvis, Amy Winehouse impersonater, and a  very professional performance of ABBA - quite brilliant!

The atmosphere is buzzing and the dance floor always full.

Thanks go to Trinity School for providing the marquee, to all the rotarians who organised the events and to all those who came along and supported us..
