Young Musician Competition 2020

Fri, Mar 13th 2020 at 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

This was a successful evening with a very high standard from all. Our Thanks to Formby Squirrels Rotary Club for their help.

The two Formby Rotary Clubs recently held their annual Young Musicians Competition.

Once again this event was well supported by the talented musicians we have in our community. The audience was treated to an entertaining selection of music, all performed to an excellent standard.

The judges had a very difficult time deliberating on the eventual winner. Maya Ravindran, pianist, who gave a beautiful performance of Claire de Lune was declared the overall winner. Olivia Schanze, pianist, was runner up with her lively rendition of Lowside Blues.

The judges commended all the competitors for their hard work in preparing their pieces for the performances and praised each and everyone of them. Well done to everyone who took part.

Those taking part were Campbell Scott, Eden Barbe, Oscar Donnelly, Shamal Harave, Shane Fonseka, Felicity Adams, Lana Jackson, Charlotte Brown, Josie Dodds, Ella Boulton, Sophia Valente, Olivia Schanke and Maya Ravindran.

The Clubs would like to thank the judges, Karina Beesley, Marie Claire Liptay, Claire Kelly and Robert Chesters, Formby Methodist Church for the venue, and everyone who turned out on the night to support our talented Young Musicians.
