Sutton Rotary dishes out £3,500 to local foodbanks and community groups
The Rotary Club of Sutton in Ashfield donated £3,500 to local food banks, charities and community groups from its 2025 Community Action Fund.
13 organisations based in and around Sutton in Ashfield received grants from the Fund, receiving amounts between £50 and £250.
Rotary Club President, Karen Alderton said “We were very pleased to be able to support so many local organisations from this year’s Community Action Fund. These groups do so much good work in the community, it was really important for us to help support them financially.”
The awards were made at a recent Rotary Club meeting where many of the recipients were present to receive their cheques.

Most of the money came from funds raised by the Rotary Santa’s Sleigh collections in December. But with the deserving nature of so many of the applications, the Club members agreed to top up the amount from the reserves.
