Bolton Health Mela 2016

Rotary clubs in Bolton inspiring health and wellbeing in the local Bolton Health Mela, an innovative annual event which celebrates health awareness through putting the fun into healthy lifestyle promotion.


The 2016 Bolton Health Mela will take place on Saturday 12th March in the Social Learning Zone at the University of Bolton.

There will be the usual combination of entertainments, activities and free health checks and advice.

The event will commences with a breakfast meeting at 10 am on the theme ‘Inspiring Health & Wellbeing in the Community by Working Together’. This meeting is attended by senior representatives of the local Clinical Commissioning Group and NHS Trusts, University staff, voluntary bodies, the Local Authority and other invitees.

The meeting will be followed by a brief formal public ceremony at 11 am during which Mr Tony Lloyd, interim Mayor of Manchester, will open the Health Mela event. The event will have several health related stalls. Visitors will have opportunity to have their health checks and health MOT conducted by health professionals. Children and adults will be able to enjoy smoothy bike and avail of other activities.

The entry to the event is open to everyone free of charge and there will be free car parking available at the University of Bolton.

This event is supported by the University of Bolton, Rotary International, local Rotary clubs, several NHS bodies as well as other voluntary organisations.
