Charity Dinner

On 25 April in the Volunteer Hall Duns Duns Rotary Club Held a Grand Charity Dinner in aid of Alzheimer Scotland, a charity supporting people with dementia and their carers and promoting research into the impact of dementia on people and services.


 Helping Alzheimer Scotland to develop support services for people with all types of dementia and their families and to increase understanding of the disease by coming along to our Charity Dinner in the Volunteer Hall, Duns.

We were grateful to Farne of Scotland for sponsoring this event and had promised you a wonderful evening that Ladies and Gentlemen all enjoyed, which included  a 3 course dinner with bar and features three highly acclaimed after dinner speakers :

George McNeill, a world record-holding professional athlete who is now a very accomplished after dinner speaker. With his easy, flowing style and natural humour,

  • Ernie Coe, a popular raconteur and after dinner speaker from Northumberlandand:"an hilarious comedian and entertainer from north Northumberland, ... who is well known on the after dinner speaking circuit, and has a repertoire to suit all tastes and ages."

and

Isobel Rutter Isobel Rutter, a highly acclaimed after dinner speaker  and also a gifted singer and musician covering a wide range of popular music. "Isobel was a star, highly entertaining with a very original and witty performance, superbly funny, with original material. Isobel's performance was of the highest calibre and ensured ... a very successful evening..."


The evening also included a prestigious charity auction by Brian Sweeney with a range of exciting lots to bid for, and a superb charity raffle with very attractive prizes. 

All proceeds of £9300 the evening made go to Alzheimer Scotland - see Why we are supporting Alzheimer Scotland.
