A Short Circular Walk from "The Swan Inn", Milton Keynes Village - Organiser, Chris Mahony

ROTARY WALK - 17 JANUARY 2013

"The Swan Inn", Milton Keynes Village

Bearing in mind the recently saturated land and flooding I decided to locate a walk where there are options for made-up footways and relatively firm surfaces.

My chosen pub, sampled and found to offer good food, and the possibility of a private bar snug, is the thatched "Swan Inn", which is situated near the green in the original Milton Keynes Village. For sat navs the address is Broughton Rd, Milton Keynes Village, MK10 9AH.  Meet at 10.15 for a 10.30 start.

If using the M1, turn off at junction 14, on to A509 (Childs Way).  At roundabout leave A509, and go straight ahead on Childs Way.  At next main junction turn left on dual-carriageway A4146 (Tongwell St.) and pass under bridge.  Immediately move across to offside lane, then right through the gap in the central reservation into Broughton Road that winds way into the old MK village.  Pub is on right.

The walk may go to Willen Lake South, or an alternative along by the river. It will depend on the weather conditions on the day, but I will aim for 2 hours maximum.  Trust me if you dare!
