Feedback froms from competitors and teachers were universally enthusiastic, with a request that the event should be repeated next year
Schools that participated this year were:
- Cressex Community School
- Sir Wm Borlase's School, Marlow
- Beaconsfield High School
- Highcrest Academy
- John Hampden Grammar School
Twenty four teams of four pupils tackled a task that was kept secret until the day of the competition.
This year it was to design and build a Coin Sorter from a selection of everyday materials such as card, balsa wood, wire and modelling clay.
There were three levels of difficulty, so teams of different ages faced a challenge appropriate to their likely skills. Method and creativity counted as much as technical skill, and consequently in the past girls have often beaten the boys.
Advanced: Sir Wm Borlase's School
Intermediate: Sir Wm Borlase's School
Foundation: John Hampden Grammar School
