LimitlessProject Limitless - Comfortable Prostheses

Project Limitless has supplied over 500 families with soft prosthetics and support with a personal limb buddy. The project wanted to reach as many families as possible. The mission is to support families with all types of limb difference. The impact has spread across the whole country.

Brechin Rotary have enjoyed two presentations from the Limitless Project and have donated over £500 to the project.

Case Studies

Caitlin

Ciatlin and her parents hope for a prosthetic to hold pens, scissors, cups, cutlery & anything. But also to help with confidence, especially in school where Caitlin gets asked if her other hand will grow.

Caitlin loves her Koalaa & uses it to eat all the time, at home & at school

Angel

Angel wanted learn to ride a bike and a scooter & be able to hold a knife and fork at the same time.

Angel is now having a wonderful time with her Koalaa arm. It is enabling her to use her bike & scooter without twisting or sloping her body to one side.

The doctors were worried that she is going to injure her back in the long term as it s a joy to see her riding her scooter in a square, upright position.

Noah

He forgets he is wearing his Mitt and wore it to bed one night it was so comfortable. Noah loves being able to wear his coat over the top his Mitt. He has also carved out the bottom of one of the inserts to control the joystick on he Nintendo.

Lexi

Seeing Lexi riding her bike for the first time using the Koalaa prosthetic, she looked so much more stable and confident. She uses it every week for riding her bike. Lexi's parents said a big thank you & that it was a wonderful thing Limitless are doing.

Ambition

The ambition is for this service to look after every child in the UK with limb difference, adding new families each year; and for it to be annually funded, for complete continuity of support for each family.

To ensure this, Project Limitless will need £350,000 each year. To look after every family on the programme and to add 125 families each year. £200,000 supports existing users, £100,00 supports new users & £50,00 supports bespoke needs.

The dream is to expand Project Limitless to a steady state service within 5 years, looking after 1000 families.
