Plans for the year:

Alan Arthur (Chair),

Disctrict Grants
The District Grant system last year did not operate well. The main problems being:

Delays in reviewing grant applications
Late payment of grants and
Failures to communicate these problems to Clubs who had made application for District grants.

This year District 1040 has revised procedures to ensure that there will be no repetition of last year’s problems.

Our Club will apply for two District Grants in 2024/25 for projects we propose to fund by means of District grants and Club funds.

The grant application forms must be submitted by 31 July, but I am proposing that we send our forms no later than mid-July.

By the end of August, we will be informed as to whether our applications have been successful or not and Clubs will receive the grant money in September.

Rotary Foundation Direct Giving

In this as in previous years, we will encourage members to make a Gift Aid payment towards our Foundation Funds.

Rotary International would like all members to donate $100 which is approximately £80.

However, in recent years a sum of £25 has been donated by each member. This year we propose to increase this to £30.

This is a modest increase when taking onto account that there has been no increase for some years and that we usually receive at least one District Grant each year from District 1040.
