My message to you
I am delighted to enter my second year as President of the Rotary Club of Sevenoaks.
I first got involved with the club several years ago to assist in one of it's major fundraising events. I found the objectives of the club and the focus on local community so appealing, that I have stayed and deepened my involvement.
For those of you who may not know, our club has played an active part in the Sevenoaks community for more than 80 years. A few years ago, we reorganised our club to make it less formal and more contemporary to reflect our diversifying membership needs.
Our major fund raising event is the 10K run, which we hold in Knole Park every March/April. It has been an incredibly successful event for us and the money raised has gone to many local charities. We also run a full programme of community, fundraising and polio awareness activities, many of which are highlighted on other pages of this website.
Naturally, Rotary is not all about work. We organise various social events for ourselves and as part of Rotary International we also access a global network of activities and events. A Rotary member is welcome anywhere in the world and many friendships are made this way.
We very much want more people to join us. We meet twice a month for a couple of hours on a Monday evening and we welcome anyone who would like to come along and see what we are about. If you prefer you can contact our Membership Officer to find out more.
