Community Spirit Awards:
After a break of two years because of the pandemic, the 2022 Awards Ceremony went ahead on 18th May at Kingsley School. This prestigious annual event, in its fourth year, is a collaboration between the Rotary Club of Royal Leamington Spa and Kingsley School rewarding some very worthy unsung community heroes who are recognised for their valuable work helping to improve the lives of others in the local community.
The Club’s four awardees included a volunteer helping those caring for others with dementia and two who are involved with the essential service, offering wheelchairs and scooters for hire in the town and a fourth who has had a long involvement with the Neighbourhood Watch service.
There was a joint award for the former Deputy Head Teacher at Kingsley School for her key role in helping to introduce this unusual partnership and the School came in with some equally worthy nominations.
The evening was seen as a great success and augurs well for the continuation of the Scheme for many years to come, with even the possibility of expanding it to other schools in the Warwick Schools Foundation.
Our Programme of Events:
Throughout the year we run events for the elderly, disabled or disadvantaged members of the community
Our Community Action:
Our work in the Community:
Royal Leamington Spa Rotary serves the local community in many different ways by organising an annual programme of events as well as developing wider links with other local organisations, including schools
We are always looking out for new initiatives which promote people’s health, their wellbeing and generally helping in the community. Leamington Spa began as a place where people came for their health and we continue to support the contemporary version of that vision for the town
Where is our future in the community?
The Rotary Club are always seeking to be involved with other local charities where there is a mutual sharing of aspirations and goals
