Disaster aid and Sustainable Projects


 

International Relief 2015/16

Here is a short list of a few of the many Rotary supported schemes that we as a club will be considering. 

A)    Disaster Relief      

Box Schemes;

     Shelter Box,                          Water Survival Box

 Rapid UK Disaster Rescue Response. Help Disaster Rescue teams from the West Country search for survivors within the first few days of a disaster, www.rapiduk.org.uk

Plus ....... Trade Aid, Water Box,

 B)    International Projects

Whatever your club's direction this year if you would like support from other clubs then why not make it a Joint Club Project?

Water;

  - Bio Sand Water Filters

50 gives a family in Kampala Slums fresh drinking water unit and hygiene education. 480 will provide a small neighbourhood with drinking water for years. May be eligible for a District Simplified grant?

  - Sand Dams

One of the least expensive ways of giving a whole community clean water for life. 8 -15,000 and could be done as a Matching Grant.

   - Glostavent A low tech anaesthesia machine 15,000 via Matching Grant

Direct Giving

- Mary's Meals: we support this effective way of feeding and educating children who'd otherwise be away looking for their next meal.

Lend With Care - An innovative way to micro credit, you choose who and how much to help and when they repay you can reinvest or withdraw your money.
