Description of the Membership Committee

Membership

The club has remained at around 50 members since the 1970s and is always open to meeting people who may wish to join us. There is a natural turnover and we always value the opportunity to welcome new members. The object of membership is to gather together men and women of different vocations and interests and to give them a common sense of purpose through fun and fellowship. This is achieved by encouraging members to work together in some form of service to the community: this may be in the field of their own business or profession; service in the community in which they live; or service through the international contacts which Rotary International provides.

By working together for a common aim, members develop friendships and enjoy the fellowship and fun that flows from teamwork. Approximately 1.3 million Rotarians belong to more than 32,000 clubs in more than 200 countries.

Rotary International operates the world's second-largest private charity - the Rotary Foundation.Like all Rotary clubs worldwide, we have a wide and varied range of professions represented.Membership is by election and is open to any individual of good character irrespective of creed, race or gender.

There is a membership enquiry form at the bottom of the page or contact the Secretary.
