Inverclyde Tourist Group

Thu, Sep 6th 2007 at 12:00 am - 2:00 am

Alister McAleese and Gyneth Caldwell came and quite literally took us for a ride. The Inverclyde Tourist Group was set up in 2002 to provide a service to promote Inverclyde to tourists arriving on cruise ships. They now promote Inverclyde not only to cruise passanger but also local clubs and societies which is where we started!. Gyneth and Alister took us around the area by bus and explained some of the interesting history to us. Did you know that the Kempock Stone was a neolithic stone that was a landmark to ships returning from far distant shores. What an amazing insight into our neighbourhood and a wortwhile evening out. The group have to be congratulated on their work in promoting Inverclyde
