What we do to support those in distress

International Service projects in the Disaster Relief area

Many Disaster Relief projects take the form of a pre-packed plastic crate, filled with a standard selection of supplies, prepared in advance and stored in readiness for when it might be needed.   Examples include LifeBox (containing clothes, tools, cookware, and toiletries), ShelterBox (containing a family-size tent, blankets, tools, etc)  and AquaBox (containing a water purification filter).

The club has been involved with supporting LifeBox and ShelterBox for some time - publicising the boxes within the local community, and encouraging  schools, churches etc to support these schemes, as well as funding boxes ourselves.   In late 2011, members of the club travelled to a warehouse in Rochdale to help with packing of LifeBoxes
