Penrith Rotary Club-Sound Advice Cumbria

Penrith Rotary Club has made a donation to Sound Advice Cumbria (SAC), a small local charity based in Mostyn Hall, Friargate Penrith.

Supported by skilled local volunteers, the charity provides advice on hearing aids, issues hearing aid batteries and re-tubes hearing aids on behalf of the NHS. Many of the volunteers are themselves hearing aid users.  There is a large demonstration of equipment on the premises where people can see what is available and try things before purchase.

Many of the callers to the centre are elderly being unable to travel the distance to Carlisle to maintain their hearing aids.  Volunteers also help out with the monthly drop-in clinics in Keswick and Appleby. Over 1,000 visitors use the centre each year.

Sound Advice Cumbria is open Thursday evenings from 4.00-6.00pm On Friday, it is open from 10.00am -3.00pm, Tel 01768 895553.
