6.45 p.m. OUTSIDE VISIT to Townmead Allotments.
8.00 p.m. Gill and Reg Leach were our guests for our club meeting. Reg told us about the Council's Parks Service and Richmond in Bloom.

25th July 'outside visit' took place at Townmead allotments, led by Sparkle and Richard Ward. Kew. Guests were greeted with a glass of wine and included Chris Morley-Smith Chairman of Short Lots allotments, together with Celia and Bob Fisher and Ann Sandall; Gill and Reg Leach (previously Parks Operations Manager LBRUT); Nanette and Alan Bowers of Richmond Rotary Club; Pauil Miller (another Townmead plotholder) and members of the Rotary Club of Kew Gardens.
Richard provided a brief introduction to allotments generally, and the current rules; Sparkle introduced the visitors to her 3 chickens on the plot; and Suzanne Sheffer narrowly won a bottle of bubbly as the person most successful in identifying 28 of 30 vegetables growing on the site. Reg later spoke to the Club about the work of Richmond Council's Parks Department.
