COMMEMORATIVE BOOKS FOR LOCAL PRIMARY SCHOOLS

The shop committee recently agreed to a proposal to use a small sum from the shop funds to purchase Dictionaries 4 Life' to hand out to local children currently in their final year at primary school. This idea has been in operation in many parts of the country and the books come with a nice mention inside of the work that Rotary does.

Our books are quite unique though in that they have had a specially designed insert stuck inside the front cover saying that they are a gift from the Rotary Clubs of Barnstaple and are being given to commemorate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

Some members of both clubs formed a small working party to carefully fix the printed inserts inside the books and Presidents Chris Haywood and President Ro Day will be making the presentations to the primary schools over the next few weeks.
