Papworth Charitable Trust .

Rotarian Lewis Heavens welcomed Marion Papadopoulo and Mary Liley of the Papworth Hospital Charitable Trust. Mary is Trust Director and was tonight's speaker.


The Club enjoyed a very interesting talk given by Mary Liley, Director of the Papworth Hospital Charity Trust. Mary and her collegue, Marion Papadopoulo, were introduced by Rotarian Lewis Heavens.

In addition to hearing the history of Papworth Hospiatl from its inception to the present day, Mary shared the proposed plans to relocate the facility to Cambridge with the Club - a potentially challenging project if signed off.

Members also heard how the Trust itself raises critical funds to ensure the quality of care and service Papworth is renowned for are maintained and the challenge it is.

Mary fielded many questions from members reflecting the level of interest and desire to understand more regarding the furture for the facility - including the car parking arrangements !

Marion handed out information outlining some key future initiatives the charity trust are running.

A vote of thanks was proposed by Rotarian Graham Smith.
