Youth Exchange - Carola Ceballos
Sun 5th August 2012 - Fri 25th January 2013
Chile's Carola Ceballos has arrived for a six months exchange experience
Carola Ceballos has arrived from Chile on a six month Short Term Exchange hosted by the Rotary Club of Rutherglen
Rutherglen Rotary Club are playing host to Carola Ceballos from Chile for the next six months. She is the younger daughter of Chile's Past District Governor Pamela and members will remember with affection the Group Study Exchange team from the same District who were with us last year.
Long Term (academic year) exchanges with Chile are not possible as our government will not provide visas for students from there to attend a state school in this country for longer than six months - the only country in the world with such a short sighted view of the benefits. However six months is very good for Carola who will return in time to start her final year at school in Chile in February.
While here she will improve her already excellent english language and learn about our school system, culture and way of life.
We look forward to meeting her at the District Conference in October and if you would like her to visit your Club between now and January please contact me for information and arrangements.
Should your Club wish to get involved with Youth Exchange I would be delighted to hear from you and will gladly guide you through the various options.
I am also interested to hear from students age 14 - 24 who may have an interest in the programme. Take a look at www.youthribi.org for more information.
