Youth

Organises a variety of youth competitions and also supports a local young person to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards each year.

Greenfylde School

We organise a reading rota to support pupils in the school and also donate a dictionary to every pupil in their final year.

Youth Speaks Competition

Each year around January we host a Youth Speaks competition in Swanmead school for Key stage 2 pupils. We have entrants from local pirmary and middle schools and it is always well recieved. This competition gives teams of 3 pupils the opportunity to talk in front of an audience about a topic of their choice. The choice of topics is always interesting.

Young Voices Competition

Devised by our club and supported by RC of Langport, this competitions encourages pupils at primary school to try public speaking on a topic of their choice within a suggested theme.

RYLA

One or two candidates are selected to attend the annual RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership) course during the February Half term. They will benefit from a week long intensive training course designed to develop their talents in a wide range of disciplines.

Wadham School Practise Interviews

In December the committee arganise a set of practise interviews at Wadham School.

Rotary Technology Tournament

The club assists the Rotary Club of Crewkerne in its annual Technology Tournament . 21 Teams from local middle and upper schools took part at the host school of Wadham School. With a supplied and limited range of materials the teams design and build machines to solve the given problem..
