Ramshead
Job done! A rink skipped by our President John qualified yesterday (Sunday) for the round-robin stage of the competition to be held in Kinross later in the year.
Perth Club League
Great stuff on the start of our Perth League campaign. The team of skip Bob Smith, John Liston, Jim Aitken and Alasdair Raffan had a major victory over Perth 2 on18 October winning by 10 shots to 5. Congrats to all but hope we haven't peaked too early!!
General
We have taken an enthusiastic approach to competitive curling this coming season by entering teams in support of the Rotary Ramshead Competition and a first time team entry into an eastern area Rotary Curling League in season 2012/13.
Response from the club curlers has been promising and a total of twelve Rotarian Curlers have been recruited for the playing pools.
October will see two teams in action--- Bob Smith will skip the first Rotary league match on the 18th October against stiff opposition in the form of Rotary Perth team 2 and on the 28th October President John Liston will lead his selected team against the Rotary Club of Perth in the Ramshead Trophy Competition.
The Ramshead moves through various rounds into Jan Feb and March 2013 with the ultimate winners being invited to play in the rotary world curling championships to be held in Aberdeen in 2014.
A full Rotary Curling league fixture list is about to become available and will be used to give adequate reminders of up coming games and team skips as well as team players.
This is great opportunity for Rotarians to participate in good meaningful competitions as well as enjoying the continuing fellowship both competitions provide.
