Greenock versus Gourock Quiz Night

On Wednesday 7 Nov, 2 teams representing Gourock Rotary Club took part in Greenock Rotary's annual quiz. With around 20 teams from several other local Rotary clubs and organisations it was a closely fought event. Gourock team 2 were in contention but were not looking forward to the music round.  However, the music round consisted of questions around UK and US crime dramas and suddenly the hours wasted in front of the TV paid off.  At the end of the quiz, Gourock Team 2 comprised of Allister & Marion Boyle, Archie MacKinlay and Bob Cumming were level pegging with another team for first place.  Marion was quickest to answer the tie-break question, correctly naming the disaster of the 28 Dec 1879 as the Tay rail bridge disaster to win first prize.
