Sporting Events/ Scottish Rotary Jewel Curling Competition

The Rotary Club of Glasgow had two teams taking part in this year's Scottish Rotary Jewel Curling Competition. This picture shows the winning rink of Craig Thomson, Bill Christie, Ian Wylie and Russell Logan.

On Tuesday 12 March 2013 The Rotary Club of Glasgow entered two teams into the Rotary Jewel Competition which attracted teams from throughout Scotland and was held at Dewars Centre, Perth
The competition was held alongside The Ramshead Finals, with the winner of that competition qualifying to represent Scotland at The Rotary World Finals to be held in Aberdeen in 2014.
The format of the Jewel is 2 X 4 end games, with a break in between to accommodate the second session.
We are delighted to report that Glasgow 2 WON the Jewel; the first time since 2000.

4th Ian Wylie.
Playing in the first session Glasgow 2 had an excellent result against Polmont winning 9-0.
In the second session, where winners play winners, they narrowly beat Leith 3
