Support Young People

We support Young People through our Youth Programmes and Competitions

 Our geographic area currently includes schools and other youth organisations in Redruth, Pool, Camborne, Hayle and the surrounding villages.

All our activities are designed to leave a lasting legacy on the lives of participants. Whether that is by giving them a platform to showcase their talents, a sociable environment for them to develop and grow, or simply an appreciation of how they can make a difference to the world around them.

Youth Competitions we support annually are:

• Young Musician - Entrants, under the age of 17 on 31st August 2024, qualify via the Camborne Music Festival, where a Young Vocalist and Young Musician are selected by the official judge.
• Young Writer - Entrants, in 3 age groups under the age of 17 on 31st August 2024, may submit their composition electronically for judging.
• Young Photographer - Entrants, in 3 age group under the age of 17 on 31st August 2024, may submit their photographs electronically for judging.
• Youth Speaks: ‘A debate’ – A debate competition between teams of 3 aged between 11 and 17, representing Secondary schools and other organisations
• Youth Speaks – A public speaking competition for teams of 3 young people aged between 7 and 11. Teams may be entered by schools or any other organisation, such as Brownies or Cubs.

Young Citizen Awards - Individuals or groups under the age of 25 may be nominated.

Youth Programmes we can offer are:

• Interact - For groups of young people aged between 12 and 18 in schools, colleges and other organisations
• Rotakids - For groups of young people aged between 7 and 12 based in schools, youth groups or community centres
• Rotary Youth Leadership Awards - is a leadership development programme run by Rotary for young adults between 18 and 30
• Rotary Youth Exchange - Offering young people between 15 and 30, the chance to travel overseas independently and experience the adventure of a lifetime
