Duns Citizen of the Year Award 2013

Sat, Jun 29th 2013 at 12:00 am - 12:00 am

The Duns Citizen Of The Year Award, run in partnership with the Berwickshire News, needs your input NOW. Full details follow.

Citizen of the Year 2012 Donald Gaddes receives the trophy from 2011 winner Neil Redpath and 2012 Club President Robert Lamont

The Duns Citizen of the Year Award is run by Duns Rotary Club and the Berwickshire News but the Award is decided totally by the people of Duns.

We don't have a 'select list', we don't 'massage' the results, we simply invite you to make your nomination either on-line or by filling in a form in the Berwickshire News.  The person with the most nominations is the Citizen of the Year.  Please note, though, you may only make one nomination.

People nominated must live inthe Duns area (this includes Duns, Chirnside, Greenlaw, Swinton, Longformacus, Abbey St Bathans, Preston and Gavinton). They must have made a significant impact on the well being of the local Community. They may be male or female from any part of the community - voluntary sector or public sector or private individual who has, in their own way, greatly contributed to the lives of their fellow citizens without thought for personal reward.

To make your selection here go to the contact form on this page, enter your details and then, in the Message' box enter

"My nomination for Duns Citizen of the Year Award 2013 is  " ... and then add the name of the person you are nominating.  It would also help to say why you are nominating this person.

Your message will go to the person collating all the nominations.

If you're happier filling in a paper form, no problems!  You can get a nomination form from Duns Post office and Duns Pharmacy (both in Market Square, of course) and fill that in rather than sending the online message.  But just make sure you let us know what you think!

The closing date for entries is 29 June 2013 - so don't delay, nominate today!

Thank you for your participation
