MORE TRAINING FOR OLDHAM SCHOOLS

  The Oldham Heartstart Community Scheme 'Heartstart Oldham' is organised by the Rotary Club of Oldham and was affiliated in March 2002.

  The first training session was held in September 2002 for new students at Oldham 6th Form College.

   Eight years later the scheme is well established providing 30 to 40 training sessions each year.

  These sessions cater for all elements of the Oldham population with approximately 6000 people having been trained since affiliation, ranging from young people to senior citizens, from the general public to the medical fraternity.

   Heartstart Oldham introduced the Heartstart Schools Programme into Oldham in 2005 and during the first year 42% of all Oldham Schools attended the training programme. This programme is continuing with the object of covering the remaining schools over the next 12
