Welcome to the July Members' Newsletter, linking you to news, resources and information from the Rotary GB&I Secretariat or provided to the Secretariat.

It is emailed, monthly, to all 35,000+ members whose email address is on the RI database. If Club Secretaries are aware of members with an email address, but not on the RI database, please forward to them (and, ideally, add their details to the database).

Members' Newsletter editions are archived on the Rotary GB&I website, in the Updates area. The Updates area will also provide up to date information that may be issued in between newsletters.

Rotary GB&I President's Welcome

title-bottom

As the new Rotary year begins, Denis and I send you our very best wishes for a wonderful year of Rotary service.

Many thanks to District 1140 Governor, Ron Daniels and his wife Helena who organised a very successful handover event at The Stoop in Twickenham on 6 July. The event saw not only the handover from John Minhinick to myself, but the induction of Rotaract in Great Britian & Ireland (RGBI) Chairman, James Lovatt and the handover from District 1140 Governor, Mike Thorn to Ron Daniels. The evening was very enjoyable, relaxed and informal with 190 attendees from all parts of Rotary GB&I and I was delighted by the turnout.

The Rotary year 2013/14 is our centenary and as we move into a new era, let us communicate that Rotary is about happiness and enjoyment as well as making our communities better places to live. That way we can attract new people to join us who want to put something back into their communities and enjoy that happiness too.

Our best wishes go out to Rotarians for a happy and successful Rotary year. Our thanks to all the RI, Rotary GB&I, District and Club Officers for all the time they give to Rotary. We will have a great year. Denis and I look forward to seeing many of you during the year and I will also be keeping everyone up to date during my year through my Facebook page.

Best Regards,
Nan
