Mother club too strong for the daughter

Round 1 of the District Tenpin Bowling Competition

Secretary Ron led the way as our club beat Furness Peninsula in the first round of the District tenpin bowling competition. Perhaps he was spurred on by family pride because his wife Patsy was the Peninsula top scorer.
Ron recorded scores of 138 and 145 while John Green and Ted Fenton had first game scores of 142 and 141 respectively before their lack of stamina told.
Mike Cumming, Jeff Dandy and Eric Parkington made up our team that triumphed 1396 to 1315.
We are now at home to Windermere in the second round with the game arranged for December 10 (6.45 start). Our team will be out for revenge as Windermere knocked us out of the competition last year before going on to become District Champions.
