Eye Camp in India

On Sunday the17th of November 2013 Dr Gogte and his team of volunteers from the Rotary Club of Puna Down Town conducted an eye camp for the boys and staff of Asha Bhavan and Asha Gram.

"Asha Bhavan" is a home for the mentally and physically challenged, destitute boys.

Some suffer from slight mental retardation but quite a number are suffering from severe mental retardation.

Fr. Thomas and his devoted staff care for the boys.

The organisation also runs a residential home for the mentally and phyiscally challenged girls in Satara and one hour drive from Asha Bhavan, is a home , "Asha Gram" where the older boys live.

In total 135 persons were checked including staff. Eight bottles of eye dropswere prescribed and 25 refractive spectacles are going to be dispensed.
