The Brigg Food Bank supported by Brigg Rotarians collected food donated by shoppers at Tesco over two week-end days and received a massive 1.7 tons of non-perishable goods.
Tesco have made a promise through the Trussle Trust to add 30% extra in weight to whatever is collected so the grand total is almost 2.2 tons of food.
This will be a tremendous boost to stocks at the Food Bank and go a long way towards supporting individuals and families in need over the Christmas period and beyond into the New Year.
Brigg Rotary have offered to sponsor food bags with little Christmas luxuries to supplement the basics so that there is a little extra Christmas cheer at this special time of year.
