Come and cheer the well deserved winners along!  Bill Redmayne (Rotary District 1080 Governor) and Rtn Mike Smith (IPP Cambridge South) were amongst those presenting the trophies from May 2013, on the Cambridge United pitch at half time.

The annual Cambridge Homeless Football Competition - the Tommy McLafferty Cup - brings together teams from many of the local charities that support homeless people, the police and Rotary - organised by the Cambridge South Rotary Club. 

The bright sunny competition day 2013 was a great success, with 10 teams playing enthusiastically and very sportingly under the watchful eyes of 4 coaches from Cambridge United and Abbeyfield, Girton.  After 11 close-fought games :

Tournament Winners Cup - Jimmy's Night Shelter

Second  - Police team

Third - Wintercomfort.

Player of the Tournament Cup was awarded to Jack Wilton (Jimmy's)

Commended Player - Marlena (Cyrenians)

Goalie of the Tournament Signed Ball was awarded to Jason Wragg (Cambridge Police)

Commended Goalie - Gerry (Flack)

Many thanks to Davies Solicitors, Great Shelford for sponsoring some of the costs, David Ball Group for sponsoring the Referees, Pret a Manger, Jimmy's and Wintercomfort for the refreshments plus City Council and Abbey Sports for the facilities. 

Venue:      Abbey Leisure Complex, Whitehill Road Cambridge CB5 8NT - the tournament pitches are on the all-weather surface behind the Abbey Swimming Pool - ample parking.

This year the Competition Day will be 29th Jun 2014.
