MEDITATE FOR ROTARY

MEDITATE ... FOR ROTARY

at The Belmore, Brooklands Road, Sale

There's nothing new about meditation. It's been around in eastern cultures and lifestyles as far back as the 6th century BC.

It can be used for a variety of purposes - such as relieving stress, helping to ease depression, boosting mental clarity, increasing concentration and helping you to sleep better.

So what is new? Perhaps it's the use of meditation to raise money for the Rotary Foundation.

And that's where Sale Rotarian Minesh Vaiwala comes in.

Minesh (pictured) is a business and transformation coach. When he joined our club last year he became our first professional hypnotherapist. And he has been meditating, daily, for about 10 years, now.

Now he holds an occasional series of practical meditation evenings at The Belmore on Brooklands Road in response to two important factors.

One is the level of interest from people who are intrigued to discover what they have probably always viewed as an ancient and mysterious practice.

The other is the work of the Rotary Foundation to achieve world understanding and peace through international humanitarian, educational, and cultural programmes.

Its role in Rotary's "Polio Plus" project, for instance, has administered oral vaccine to more than two billion children in the past 30 years, helped 209 countries, territories and areas to become polio-free and is currently attacking the last pockets of endemic polio in Pakistan, Nigeria and Afghanistan.

That's part of the background to Minesh's "practical meditation" evenings, Those who attend will donate £10 and every penny will go to the Rotary Foundation. In exchange they will discover different methods of meditation, the benefits for the brain and breathing patterns and the effects of deep relaxation.

Sounds like an all-round winner.
