Cambodian Farmer Ho Mei seeks funding

Lendwithcare.org is a microfinance lending website from the development charity CARE International UK, in association with The Co-operative.  It allows people to make small business loans to entrepreneurs in developing countries, and help them work their way out of poverty.  It currently supports entrepreneurs in Cambodia, Togo, Benin, The Philippines, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Ecuador through partner microfinance institutions (MFIs) in these countries.

Following the success of our first trial of microlending to entrepreneurs with all loans 100% repaid, the Club decided to continue with the scheme and selected further entrepreneurs and projects for reinvesting our funds.  The projects we have selected in 2014 are listed below (initial programme of funding here) and we are hopeful the entrepreneurs will be able to make good use of the funds and repay us so that we may apply them further in the future.

Selection of projects has been very difficult as there are so many which would obviously benefit from an injection of funds but we have tried to base our decisions on a range of criteria to enable as full an experience as possible of the scheme but some preference has been given to projects employing people or planning a degree of capital development.
