Kids Out 2014

The Rotary Club of Swadlincote held the annual Kids Out Event for 2014, this is organised by the Service Projects Committee, led by Chairman Rtn Ted Harvey.

This event took place in the 5th of June 2014.

The aim of the event was to take local children, for an organised and free day out funded by the Rotary Club of Swadlincote to the Black Country Living Museum.

Rotarians Ted Harvey, David Bird, Tony Gardner accompanied the local children as helpers and all involved had a rewardingly wonderful time, the children and group learned about life in the past, Iron works and Industrial history of the region.

This also included how the Anchors and Chains were made for the RMS Titanic in the Midlands.

It is when we as a Rotary Club plan and run these community events and they are successful that it makes all the efforts worth while, especially when all involved not only learned something new but had great fun at the same time.
