Induction of Gerry Tattersall followed by a talk on Event Management given by Fiona Murray.


Fluent in French and German, Fiona Murray lived and worked in Germany, Belgium and London before making the move to the Channel Islands. Passionate about marketing, Fiona has spent several years working worldwide in the industry initially in tourism marketing then later specialising in the corporate event management sector helping companies build their brands and exploit sponsorships through events. She has previously overseen events at several of the F1 Grand Prix circuits and handled corporate hospitality for the sponsor's guests at the Orange British Academy Film Awards in London. She gained her specialist event management experience with a London agency working with blue-chip clients such as Orange, Gulf Air and Sony.

After moving to Guernsey in 2004, she was contracted to organise the sixth summit of the British-Irish Council at Castle Cornet and has also reviewed business tourism and the management of on-island events for the Commerce and Employment Department of the States of Guernsey.

She then spent five years as Managing Director of Orchard Events from 2006 to 2010 running local events such as the Institute of Directors Annual Debate and the Guernsey Funds Forum and also a number of overseas hospitality projects in Dublin, Shanghai & Monaco. Since 2010, she has been working independently as a marketing & event consultant for clients such as Guernsey Finance, the Guernsey Financial Services Commission and the Guernsey Investment Funds Association. Fiona holds an MSc in tourism management and a degree in international marketing with French and German as well as business qualifications in project management.
